Peristylus lawii Wight

Ecology Herbs 15-45 cm in hight. 
Tubers 1-2, oblong-obovate, somewhat flattened. 
Stem terete, brownish-white, stout, sheathed; sheaths,2-3, each 1.5-3 cm in length, broad-mouthed, oblong.

Leaves 3-5 clustered above the middle of the stem, 3-13x 2-4 cm, not reduced to bracts above, sheathing at the base, lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, acute, entire: minutely papillose, glabrous, grass-green above, pale dull green beneath Inflorescence in somewhat lax spikes, 8-18 cm long; peuncle 4-7 cm long, ebracteate, terete, green,.

Flowers sessile, white tined with greenish-yellow, bracteate. 

Bracts 5x2mm lanceolate, acuminate entire, shorter or longer than the flowers, 1-nerved,  

Sepals subequal, white; 
dorsal sepal 3x2 mm ;  ovate-oblong, obtuse or subretuse, entire. .1-nerved, concave, 
lateral sepals 3.5x 1.5 mm oblong, obtuse, subconcave conduplicate, entire, glabrous, 1-nerved,. 

Petals 3.5x2.5 mm obovate in outline, retuse.

Labellum: 3.5x2.5mm; 3 lobed about the middle, clawed,; claw slightly elongate, concave; lobes subequal, lateral ones about 1mm long, rounded, curved on the outer margins, subacute, slightly longer than the straight obtuse midlobe. 
Spur small, scrotiform, 1mm in diameter with a circular depression all round. 

Column very short, greenish-white. 
Ovary pale green, ribbed, about 5 mm long. 

Capsule1-1.5 cm long fusiform, turgid, ribbed; beak 3-5 mm long.                       
Flowering: July. 
Fruiting: September.
