Ecology: Terrestrial herb about 20 to 40cm tall, growing on humus rich soil in rocky areas on slopes under dense shade of trees, they are either solitary or growing in small groups

Tuber: 2 unequal suborbicular to elliptic

Leaves: 3-5 radical or sub radical, more or less spreading on ground, uppermost usually small bract like2-13x0.5-3mm oblong, acute, entire, minutely papillate

Inflorescence:  f20-30cm lax, few flowered, secund or sub secund raceme.

Peduncle long, terete, bracteate, longitudinally ribbed

Flowers: white, bracteate, shortly pedicellate

Bracts: 1.5x0.4cm much shorter than ovary, ovate-lanceolate acuminate, 3 nerved

Sepals white unqual entire minutely denticulate 3 nerved 
Dorsal sepal 5x2.5mm ovate subacute 
Lateral sepals 6x4mm obliquely or falcately oblong subacute 

Petals: 4-5x1.5-2mm, white linear subspathulate, acute, entire minutely &irregularly denticulate, 1 nerved 

Lip: 7-12x7-9mm. white narrowly clawed at the base, ovate-oblong 3 lobed 

Lateral lobes 5-7x3-4mm obliquely ovate, sub cuneate, truncate denticulate to the acute apex, longer than mid lobe 


Mid lobe 4-6x1.5-2mm, linear sub-acute 

Spur:  white 2.5-3cm long curved slender pendulous, longer than ovary, somewhat clavate acute

Column: Small, green, oblong 2,5x2mm

 
Anther cell pale yellow, pollinia pyriform, viscidium oblong, staminode small oblong-orbicular
Stigmatic processes large elliptic clavate greenish


Ovary 15x4mm, curved strongly ribbed with 3-4mm long beak

Capsule: spindle shaped, strongly ribbed 

Flowering: September – October

Fruiting: October- November
