Ecology Epiphytes on Ceryea arborea tree in semievergreen forest
Pseudobulbs ovoid, bilaterally flattened, 3–5 × 2.5–4 cm, enclosed in leaf bases.
Leaves linear-oblong, 18–25 cm long, curved, unequally cleft at tip.
Inflorescence 20–25 cm long, curved, arising from within sheaths at base of pseudobulb, many flowered.
Flowers yellowish with maroon-brown stripes, 3–3.5 cm across.
Bracts minute, persistent, acute, 2–3 mm long.
Sepals 18–20 × 1.8–2 mm, spreading, linear-oblong, subacute.
Petals 16–18 x 2–2.5 mm, apex obtuse to acute.
Lip 14–20 mm long, 3-lobed; lateral lobes, oblong–obtuse, maroon veined; midlobe broadly ovate, much recurved, yellow with maroon stripes, disc with 2 yellow calli.
Column 10 mm long, maroon, slightly yellow at top. Pollinia 2, waxy, yellow.
Capsules ovoid, 5–7 cm long, longitudinally and shallowly grooved.
Flowering & Fruiting: May – December.
